Progress, XP, streaks & rewards
5 min read
Signing in turns successful practice into a durable progress profile. The system is designed to make consistent learning visible without changing the underlying goal: solve the exercise and understand the evidence.
Read your dashboard
Open Home to see the day's overview. The level card shows:
- current level and level title;
- lifetime XP and progress toward the next level;
- leaderboard rank when one is available;
- current solving streak and available streak freezes;
- gem balance;
- solved-puzzle count;
- earned achievements out of the current catalog.
An equipped reward title can replace the standard level title on your profile and leaderboard row. Eligible paid plans show their XP boost in the level card, so you can see when it is active.
The compact progress control in the Playground header shows your level, current streak, and gems. Select it to return to the full dashboard.
XP and levels
Successful graded work awards XP. First-time solves are worth more than repeating a puzzle, and difficulty affects the award. A limited repeat reward keeps deliberate review useful without turning rapid resubmission into the main way to progress.
Daily challenges, completed quests, achievements, learning-path completion, and Lab work can add their own XP. The reward message after a successful action breaks down what was earned and announces level-ups or newly unlocked achievements.
The app always shows the exact reward before or after the relevant action. Reward values can evolve, so use the displayed value rather than memorizing a formula.
Streaks and freezes
Your solving streak grows when you complete qualifying practice on consecutive days. The dashboard shows the current streak, while your profile retains the longest streak for achievements and status.
A streak freeze is a consumable reward that can protect a missed day when the streak rules apply. You can earn or purchase freezes, and the level card shows how many remain. They are used as protection, not equipped like a title or theme.
Calendar periods in the progress system use UTC. This matters near midnight and for leaderboard windows. The interface labels time-window behavior where it affects a goal.
Daily challenge and quests
The Daily challenge points to one featured puzzle and shows its bonus. Select Solve to open it directly. Once complete, the card changes to a completed state for the day.
Quests are short goals with visible progress, target, reset period, XP, and gem rewards. Daily quests focus on today's practice; weekly quests reward a broader pattern such as volume, variety, or harder work. The quest panel is the source of truth for the exact current requirement and reward.
While you solve in the Playground, a slim strip can show today's challenge and the active quest closest to completion. Select All quests to return to the dashboard.
Activity and solved history
The dashboard activity graph covers the last year. Switch it between Submissions and Runs to see consistency, total activity, active days, and the longest run of active days for that metric. Darker cells represent more activity on that date.
Open Activity for two detailed records:
- Solved puzzles lists successful solves, most recent first, with links back to the puzzle.
- Submission history lists graded attempts and their status. Use Load more to retrieve older entries.
Runs help you understand practice frequency, but only a successful graded Submit marks a puzzle solved.
Achievements and course badges
Open Achievements to browse the full collection. Achievements are grouped by category and tier. Threshold achievements show progress toward their target; moment achievements explain the specific event that unlocks them. Each card states its XP and gem reward.
Open Achievements to see Course badges. Completing every exercise in a learning path permanently earns that path's badge. Locked badges link back to the path so you can review what remains; earned badges include their completion date when available.
Leaderboards
The main leaderboard ranks XP and shows each player's level and equipped title. Switch among:
- All time;
- This month;
- This week;
- Last 30 days;
- Last 7 days.
Calendar-month and calendar-week boards use UTC. Your own row is highlighted. If your rank is outside the visible list, your standing appears separately below it.
Puzzle results can also show a best-time standing. That compares your persisted best result for that puzzle, while the main leaderboard compares XP. They answer different questions and do not replace one another.
Gems and the reward shop
Gems are earned from solves and other progress rewards. Spend them in Rewards on:
- Titles, which appear with your profile and leaderboard identity;
- Themes, which change the Playground's visual style;
- Streak freezes, which add consumable protection.
Owned titles and themes can be equipped later without buying them again. The default theme is always available so you can switch back. Some cosmetics require a paid plan in addition to enough gems; a locked item shows the relevant upgrade action. A disabled price button means the current gem balance is not high enough.
Gems and permanent cosmetic ownership belong to your signed-in profile. Do not create a second account when changing devices if you want to keep the same collection.
